Diwali In Mauritius

Here's something that I came to know this weekend. I just can't believe that even a small island like Mauritius celebrates Diwali with great pomp. Yes, a lot of people there are of Indian origin -- 63 percent! So Diwali is celebrated in Mauritius almost in the way it's celebrated in India. The entire Island is decorated in Indian colors. The festive spirit is really held high with lots of fireworks, decorations, party and delicious dishes. YUM!

If you have friends in Mauritius just stay in touch with them. Share your thoughts on the very auspicious day of Diwali. Here are some wonderful Orkut scraps that you can try out to reach to your Mauritian palls with your special Diwali and Dhanteras messages.
