How to Make Mishti Doi On Durga Puja Orkut Comments

Durga puja is celebrated with great pomp and show. Sweet is an inseparable part of the Durga Puja festival. Special sweets are usually available in the market during the festival. But the pleasure of seeing your loved ones enjoying the Mishti Doi (sweetened yogurt) that you've made at home is really different.Here's how to make yummy mishti doi for your friends and guests.

Ingredients:
  • Buffalo Milk -- 2 1/4 ltrs
  • Sugar – 500 gms.
  • Yogurt – 25 gms.
  • Earthen pot
  • Deep Bowl of 1.5 kg.

Direction
  • Add 300 gram sugar to the milk and boil it in medium heat for 40 minutes.
  • Beat the milk constantly while boiling.
  • When the milk has reduced to 45% and has become thick, put off the flame.
  • Add the remaining 2oo grams of sugar in 50 ml of water and boil it until it turns into thick brown sugar syrup.
  • Pour the sugar mixture (syrup) into the milk and heat it for another 20 minutes. Beat it constantly while heating.
  • Pour the mixture into the earthen pot after it cools down and mix the yogurt.
  • Stir it well until the yogurt mixes up thoroughly.
  • Cover it and allow it to set for a day in warm place.
  • Put it into the refrigerator after it gets thickened.
  • Serve it chill.
